1.4006 / X12Cr13

1.4006 is a ferritic stainless steel with good corrosion resistance and high weldability.

1.4006 - Ferritic stainless steel with good corrosion resistance

1.4006 is a ferritic stainless steel that contains around 12-14% chromium and is characterized by its good corrosion resistance in many environments. This alloy offers good strength and is particularly weldable, making it ideal for applications in the mechanical engineering, automotive and food industries. Compared to austenitic stainless steels, 1.4006 is magnetic and is therefore suitable for applications where magnetic properties are desired.

Properties:

Corrosion resistance: 1.4006 offers good resistance to many environmental influences, but is not suitable for extremely aggressive chemicals.
Weldability: This alloy can be welded easily, which makes it ideal for various manufacturing processes.
Mechanical strength: It offers good strength properties, especially at low temperatures.
Magnetic properties: 1.4006 is magnetic, which distinguishes it from many austenitic stainless steels.
Applications:
1.4006 is used in the mechanical engineering industry, automotive industry, as well as for food processing equipment and structural components where corrosion resistance and good machinability are required.
