AW7075 is one of the strongest aluminium alloys and belongs to the 7xxx series, which is known for its exceptional strength. With a high zinc content (approx. 5.1-6.1%), this alloy offers excellent mechanical properties and excellent fatigue resistance. AW7075 is often used in applications where the highest loads and high performance are required, such as in aerospace, motorsports and the military.
Properties:
Very high strength: AW7075 offers exceptionally high strength values and is therefore suitable for demanding, highly stressed applications.
Corrosion resistance: Despite its high strength, the alloy has good corrosion resistance, especially in moderate environmental conditions.
Machinability: It is easy to machine and is suitable for complex manufacturing processes.
Heat treatment: AW7075 can be further strengthened by heat treatment, which further improves its mechanical properties.
Applications:
AW7075 is used primarily in aerospace, military, sports equipment and for highly stressed components where weight and strength are critical.
